How Fillers Work
Fillers are Hyaluronic acid based.
They offer a quick and effective way of smoothing out wrinkles and folds. Hyaluronic Acid fillers can also be used to enhance lips and shape facial contours. When Hyaluronic Acid fillers are injected into the skin the filler is naturally integrated into the tissue, adding volume. It can therefore be used to smooth out facial folds and wrinkles as well as to enhance lips, for example, producing a fuller or more pouting lip.
Improvement can be seen immediately and lasts between depending on area and type of filler used up to 12 months. Actual results vary person to person and it is important to have realistic expectations of the treatment. This will be fully discussed during your consultation.
Hyaluronic Acid fillers act by absorbing up to 1000 times its own weight in water.
Hyaluronic Acid fillers are non-animal origin and non-allergenic, and no allergy test is required.
The Hyaluronic acid filler is completely broken down within the skin over a period of months, eventually leaving no trace of the filler.
Numbing of the area is not usually required for a filler as the filler contains a numbing agent.
Treatment with filler takes around 15 minutes.
